Medium Roast Arabica Whole Coffee Beans

Pure Arabica medium roast coffee, deliciously smooth with chocolate undertones, a soft sweet acidity and a rich mellow taste.

These lucky Arabica beans are treated to optimum conditions in the northern Nicaraguan mountains; shade grown, a fantastic tropical climate and a height of 2088m above sea level all add to the beans five star treatment, with which, if they had any say in the matter, they would no doubt agree.

This particular Central American coffee has a sweet, rich and balanced flavour with chocolate undertones and a smooth finish.

Why is there no Fairtrade Association certification?

Fairtrade work very closely with cooperatives, these are organized groups who are able to supply Fairtrade with the quantities they require. The farmers we buy from do not belong to a cooperative for various reasons; geographical, financial or simply because they don't want to. We work completely differently by buying directly from the farmers, ensuring a fairer deal. Therefore there is no Fairtrade certification, however we are completely ‘fair trade' as we buy direct from the farmers.

If the coffee contains no pesticides or fertilizers then why isn't certified organic?

Farmers who belong to cooperatives pay a certain amount to belong to one. Part of this money goes towards having the coffee certified as organic which is what their buyers want. The farmers we buy from cannot afford this certification, ironically they cannot afford the pesticides fertilizers or chemicals either!
