Sun & Seed crafts products using traditional techniques with artisan imagination. We believe that neither our customer nor the environment requires anything unnatural. The health benefits of eating organically grown food are now widely accepted and aside from nutritional benefits, our main aim is to create products which taste exceptionally good.

Sun & Seed started as a family business. For over 18 years we have been growing seeds in Vojvodina (northern Serbia), where the land is very fertile and there is no heavy industry – therefore no pollution.

"Making the transition to organic certification was not difficult since the Bosnian war isolated farmers from the rest of the world, denying them access to chemical fertilisers and pesticides. After 10 years of conflict and isolation, the fields had become organic, clean of chemicals, almost by mistake."

Initially we produced cold-pressed pumpkin seed and sunflower seed oils, employing traditional methods, very different from the cheap refined oils that are made for supermarkets. As the business grew, the family teamed up with other farmers in the area who were as passionate about great organic food. They began to work together to grow more types of organic food and market them through a collective: Sun & Seed.

Today a comprehensive range of our award-winning products are available in independent shops across the UK and delivered to your door from this website.

We make considerable effort to keep our environmental impact positive in all aspects of our production. We always use recycled glass in our jars and bottles; we never transport our products using airfreight; and all of our agricultural waste is either composted or used to generate power for our workshop.

Our farm in Serbia is almost completely self-sufficient!
