Tasting real tea for the first time is often compared to discovering the complex world of wine. Amazingly, all tea is made from the same plant (camellia sinensis) whether it's black, oolong, green or white. Like wine, cheese and whisky, tea's unique characteristics are influenced by the ‘terroir' - where it's from, what the soil is like, how high the land is and what the weather conditions are, not to mention who produced it.

Revitalising, invigorating, calming, restoring, uplifting and simply delicious, the tea sourced by Lahloo is a completely different experience to the mass-produced tea made in huge factories purely for profit rather than quality. Lahloo teas are all about taste and provenance and they will take you on an exciting journey through your senses.

Black tea, oxidised (that gives its colour) and then baked, really packs a punch. Comforting, invigorating and satisfying; take 1 heaped teaspoon of leaves and steep with freshly boiled water for 3-4 mins).

Oolong tea falls half way between green and black tea, partly oxidised, and is sensational. So, it seems a little strange to us that you rarely find oolong tea! Utterly revitalising and reviving; once you try oolong tea you'll see why we love it! Try 1 1/2 heaped tsp per cup with cooler water and infuse for 1 - 2 1/2 minutes. Re-infuse 4-5 times.

Green tea is to us the spinach of the tea world! Full of anti-oxidant and vitamin goodness and really tasty! Green tea is invigorating and refreshing. Remember, never pour boiling water onto the grassy leaves! Wait for the kettle to cool and only infuse for 1-2 minutes.

White tea is delicate and elegant. The most famous white tea is Silver Needle - the very best downy silvery tea buds are plucked in the spring just before their leaves unfurl. Relax and unwind with the “Queen of tea”! Take 1 heaped teaspoon and steep with cooled water for about 3 minutes. Re-infuse 4-5 times.
