Ethiopia produces some of the most unique and fascinating coffees in the world and the Yirgacheffe is certainly one of them. To Ethiopians the Yirgacheffes, like the Harrars, are referred to as coffees from the garden - grown by villagers in the high rolling hills in South Western Ethiopia on organically rich pocket-sized plots - using completely traditional methods - and without the use of agrochemicals.

Our main problem from Ethiopia is complete traceability - no absolute specifics - so at present coffees from Ethiopia are selected on the basis of their exceptional cup profile. We are working directly and through our importer to obtain 100% traceability in sourcing.

Coffee, from Ethiopia

Tasting Notes: The cup exhibits - notes of jasmine, traces of honey and a suggestion of tangerine - high-toned shimmering acidity - bright clean pink grapefruitish. A really elegant cup.

Outstanding and distinctive coffee - this Lot has to be tasted to be believed!
