Akhaya Cookery School
I set up Akhaya cookery school in 2009 based on my passion (bordering on obsession) for food. Growing up in a multicultural part of London, I was exposed to and was cooking food from across the world from a very young age. I was always fascinated by food and cooking; bringing ingredients together to create something beautiful and delicious that can be enjoyed always bring me joy. When deciding to start a business based on my passion, I decided to focus on African food, as although there are a growing number of restaurants specialising in regions across Africa, there was nowhere for people to learn to cook African food. Through Akhaya I aim to highlight the amazingly delicious and diverse food that can be found in various countries and bring African food to the mainstream. Our classes are a fun, informative and welcoming environment where people can learn to cook authentic dishes and meet other like-minded foodies. We create great tasting food by using the best quality ingredients we can get hold of. We believe using great ingredients is part of the fun of cooking and the easiest way to ensure great results. As well as delivering classes, I have also put together our own range of spice blends, handmade using the highest quality ingredients with most being organic and some fairt |
